Welcome to Raise The Barre! Our names are Sarah and Stass and while both of us come from the corporate world, we met and bonded over our passion for fitness. We started Raise The Barre with a goal to form a community of strong, like-minded women, who are always looking to challenge themselves. Our classes provide clients with an ever-changing workout that incorporates music to motivate you and take your mind off everyday stressors. We want to help you reach your goals, foster new relationships, and gain confidence. Join us in our journey of raising the barre!
Hello! My name is Sarah but I adore when people call me Sar.
I grew up in the beautiful city of Calgary and went to Western University where I completely my degree in Electrical Engineering. I am now working as an engineer at Telus doing the thing I love even more than barre... MATH!
After teaching at a different barre studio for a couple of years, I found that I was not only obsessed with the workout and how strong it made me feel, but I had also formed so many amazing relationships with my clients (which is how I met Stass!). Barre is not just a workout to me; it is a way to meet new people and form a community of like-minded women.
Our goal for Raise The Barre is to help other women feel strong, confident, and to help foster new relationships. I want you to be excited to workout with us and to embrace the burn!
Hi! My name is Nastassja but everyone calls me Stass for short.
I grew up in Toronto and went to Western University where I studied Business. I have been working towards my CPA designation at Ernst & Young and will be starting at RBC in Wealth Management in the fall!
I tried my first barre class a few years ago and totally got my bum kicked. Fitness has always been a big part of my life, but those small pulses and isometric holds got me using small muscles I never knew I had. I was immediately obsessed with the workout... so much so that I applied to be an instructor.
Our goal for Raise The Barre is to ensure that every workout is fun. We make barre fun by adding cardio intervals that will leave you sweaty. The workout is different every time so you never get bored (I still get sore after every class!).
